Senior Sunrise took place on Thurs., Aug. 28 before school on the football field. The weather was partially cloudy, which obstructed the view of the sun from certain parts of the field. Lots of students brought blankets to cover up the dew on the ground as well as had fun posters to take pictures with, containing messages such as “Senior Sunrise” and “Smile You’re a Senior.” Seniors celebrate this tradition to mark the beginning of or the “sunrise” of their senior year, and also do a Senior Sunset activity at the end of the year.
One of the seniors who attended the sunrise, Irina Savage, said, “Even though the weather was not the greatest, and you couldn’t really see the sunrise through the fog, I still had fun spending time with my friends.” Another senior, Franciska Seyler, said, “I had a lot of fun spending the morning taking pictures with my friends, even if there wasn’t much of a sunrise in the background.”
