Flaming Foliage is a festival that has been running for 75 years since 1949 in Renovo, Pennsylvania. It is a wonderful Central Pennsylvania tradition that involves one girl from several schools around the area being nominated by their teachers and peers to represent them at the Flaming Foliage Festival.
This year, Williamsport Area High School had Dayianna Banes, previously seen on the Homecoming court, representing them at the 2025 Flaming Foliage Festival, with her being escorted by previous Homecoming court member Xavier Johnston. Banes is a member of the Senior Executive Board, a member of the Yearbook Club, and an enriched academics student who goes above and beyond to do her best in school and be there for her peers. At the festival, her day was filled with interviews and questions asked by four different judges whom she dazzled with her stage presence.
When asked how she felt about being nominated, Baynes commented: “It was an honor to be nominated for this event. I felt so grateful that I was able to represent our school in a positive light and show some of the good and great things that come from our school.”
