On January 10, seniors gathered in the Millionaire Cafe for a breakfast hosted by Dr. Bowers. Throughout the year, Dr. Bowers meets with small groups of seniors in the Millionaire Cafe, and the culinary students prepare a meal.
Students had the chance to ask questions and offer feedback about their high school experience, and Dr. Bowers shared his advice with the seniors. His main message was that success breeds success.
“Failure is the enemy of success,” Bowers explained. “It’s not that you won’t have setbacks in life, though,” he further clarified. But it’s the moments following the setbacks that define us according to Bowers. He went on to explain that it is vitally important in the moments following a setback to take action or accomplish something in an effort to prevent a downward slide. He explained that this applies to school, sports, work, relationships—all aspects of life.
