On Sept. 12, 2025, the WAHS Marching Millionaires visited Jackson Primary School to play for the students. The marching band students boarded their bus on Friday at the end of sixth period to make it to Jackson. They then went in to the school’s gym to play in front of the students in an assembly.
They played the school’s traditional fight songs that they typically play football games at the high school; they played “On, Wisconsin!,” “We Will Rock You,” “Seven Nation Army,” “Let’s Go Port,” “Firework,” and “Sweet Caroline.” The high school students were able to show off the skills they have gained from being in the music program and got to promote the marching band to the kids in Jackson.
A senior in the marching band said, “It was cool getting to play for the younger kids. I was about their age when I started playing my instrument so to get to promote what they could do in a few years was super fun.” The kids in Jackson enjoyed the performance, and the high school students had the opportunity to show their school spirit and support the district’s music program by encouraging the younger students to engage with their musical opportunities.
