This year, the Educators Rising club has come up with a spooktastic idea to celebrate Halloween in the school community. Teachers received small fake pumpkins created by our extensive CTE program on the morning of Oct. 29 to participate in a fun game amongst their fellow school faculty members.
Teachers were meant to go up to each other and ask in a funny accent or weird voice if they had any pumpkins, and if they did, they had to give their pumpkins up. No cheating or lying was allowed, and the teacher with the most pumpkins by the end of the school day would win. It was a fun event from the eyes of the students watching their teachers enthusiasm and excitement from the sidelines, and for teachers who finally got to take a break from having to constantly being worried about students during school games. This year’s winners are shown in the picture to the right.
When asked to comment, club advisor Mrs. Miller commented: “It was an opportunity for teachers to have a little fun and show students that teachers are real people who can be silly sometimes. It also gave teachers a reason to communicate about something that isn’t school-related and strengthen the community amongst faculty.”
This game is an amazing display of Educators Rising creativity and their ability to pay attention to the faculty and student body at this school to know what events work best for the people at our school. If you are interested in joining you should talk to Mrs. Cipriani or Mrs. Miller to get information on how to join. This club is an important part of our school and inspires hope for the teachers of our future generations.
