On Dec. 14, 2025, the Williamsport Area High school held their annual, beloved holiday concert for the community. The Friday before the true concert date, they rehearsed as an assembly for the school. That Sunday, the students put on a show that many members of the community look forward to every year.
The band kicked off the concert with a bang with songs like “Celtic Carol” by Robert W Smith and the classic “All I Want for Christmas is You” by Mariah Carey. The orchestra and band then combined to play a piece by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, “Faith Noel.” Finally, the concert ended with the combined band, orchestra, and choir performing the fan favorite holiday sing-along that invited the crowd to engage with the students and sing the words to their favorite holiday songs.
Being that the holiday concert was so close to the annual fall concert, the students put a lot of effort into this performance. Even with the quick turnaround, the students put on a great holiday show that was perfect for giving those who came holiday cheer. A student in the crowd, Elijah Hopton, said “This concert is always a great time. The decorations and music really create a Christmas mood.” A student in the orchestra, Sadie Bower, said “This was my last holiday concert, and it was a really great time. Playing cheery songs like that for people is always nice.”
The holiday concert brought holiday cheer to students and parents alike. The effort and work the music directors and the students put in is evident in their music and the crowd they brought in with this concert.
