Senior Olivia Ciabattarri composed a musical piece that the Sinfionetta orchestral group performed at their spring concert.
Orchestra director Matthew Radspinner introduced “Across the Ocean” to the audience and explained they would be part of an inaugural performance of Ciabattarri’s composition.
“I have been working on this piece for a long time,” Ciabattarri explained. “It has changed and grown over time as I have changed and grown. I kept returning to tweak things here and there, and the piece represents who I was and what I was going through at times throughout the writing process” Ciabattarri added.
“It was absolutely amazing,” said Jennifer Wilson who was in the audience. “I was blown away!”
Olivia will attend Lycoming College in the fall where she will continue pursuing her passion for music.
