On Thursday, Nov. 7, the Williamsport Area High School band students performed a fall concert. The students put an immense amount of effort into their performance. The concert featured performances from Wind Ensemble, Symphonic band, and Marching Millionaires.
The Symphonic band started the night with three songs, most notably, “La Brujas” by Jorge Vergas, which fits the season as it tells the story of a witch on Dias de los Muertos.
Next to perform was the Wind Ensemble. They performed a total of four songs, including a march, a choir transcription, and a new modern song. They also performed a moving medley called “US Armed Forces Salute.” The band director, Mr. Bulgarelli, asked any member of the audience who has served in the military to stand for their branch of military’s tune. The standing audience members received applause.
The concert was concluded by the Marching Millionaires performing their 2024 show, TOXIC, and marked an end to their championship-winning season.
Mr. Bulgarelli commented, “The WAHS Band Program’s recent Fall Band Concert was a testament to the hard work, dedication, and incredible talent of our students. It’s an honor to be part of the Millionaire Band program, where every performance shows our commitment to excellence and our pride in representing our school and community.”
Fiona McGehean, a student in the audience, said, “The band concert was engaging, and I liked the songs.”
Overall, the fall concert was enjoyable and showcased the Williamsport Area High School students’ talents.
