The Homecoming Court was presented and the winners were announced at the football game on Friday, Oct. 11. The Homecoming court is a tradition that has been around for decades. Every school year, seven couples are chosen to be on court, and one couple from those seven is crowned Homecoming king and queen.
This year’s court consisted of Sa’niyah Batten and Kyreek Bradshaw, Nylah Ford and Aiden Everett, Emily Kime and Gabe Fioretti, Shylah Montoya and Maverick Dauber, Maci Shirey and Kellen Jackson, Adalynn Diefenderfer and Robert Leiter, and Normandy Broaddus and Samuel Allison.
Out of the court members, Sa’nyiah Batten and Kyreek Bradshaw were crowned this year’s Homecoming king and queen. Bradshaw, a wide receiver and a defensive back on the Varsity Millionaire Football team, commented, “When I won it felt like a relief. During the game, I was thinking about the Homecoming court. When I heard my name, I was excited to get the crown.”
Batten, the Formal Princess from last year, stated, “Initially, I thought two crowns, two crowns, having won Formal Princess last year. The bouquet was beautiful, I picked an outfit inspired by the fall season that I felt confident in wearing. Like Kyreek, I was also relieved because I won’t have to worry about being on another court the rest of the year. I felt special being recognized on social media throughout the community for a positive win.”
