The Williamsport girls volleyball team’s season has come to an end. They made it to the first round of state playoffs after beating Delaware Valley in the district finals in four sets and claiming the title of District II/IV Champions. They were also champions of the Shamokin Tournament. They suffered a tough loss to the Parkland Trojans, however, losing in three sets in the first round of state playoffs.
They ended their season with a Varsity record of 15-7 and a Junior Varsity record of 15-3, winning against opponents such as North-Penn Liberty, Central Columbia, and Shamokin, and losing some close games against teams such as Altoona and Central Mountain.
One of the graduating seniors, Jayden Ulmer, commented, “In a season full of ups and downs, I’m so proud of how we did this year. We were able to pull together despite all the challenges we faced and make it further than we ever have.”
The coach, Patricia Jones, said, “This season was not always easy, but the team believed in their abilities, in each other, and kept focused on their goal. Bringing home a program first District II/IV Championship gold and hosting a first-round state play-off game was a great way to close the season.”
The girls had an overall very successful season, and we are excited to see them play again next year.
