Students turned out in record numbers for the Bonfire on Thursday. C-lot filled up fast as students gathered to gear up for Friday’s big game.
“It was a great turn out. We were really happy so many kids came out in support,” said senior executive board Vice President Emlyn Kinley.
First, the cheerleaders got the crowd going with a few cheers. Then, senior captain Devon Harris rallied up the crowd from the back of a pickup truck. Quarterback Caleb Williamson also took a turn speaking to the crowd. The players both expressed confidence in their team’s chances in Friday’s matchup against Central Mountain.
Afterwards, the crowd got a dance party going. “It was awesome. Everyone was dancing,” said sophomore Aniyah Mitchell. “I don’t think it was part of the plan, but it just happened, and everyone was having fun.”
