For the first time in recent school history, both the girls and boys basketball teams are playing for the district championship.  The girls will play Wyoming Valley West on Friday at 6:00 p.m. and the boys will battle Scranton on Saturday at 8:00 p.m.

The girls path to the championship game began with a convincing win over Delaware Valley. The girls topped Del Val 54-18 in a whole team effort. Every girl on the team made the stat sheet that game.  Then they traveled to Hazleton for the semi-final round against perennial powerhouse and rival Hazleton.  Hazleton defeated Williamsport by 20 points during their first meeting this season. Williamsport exacted revenge, though, with a dominant win over Hazleton of 54-37 to return to Mohegan Sun for the championship game for the first time since 2019.

The boys team dominated the competition on their path to the district final. The boys regular season record afforded them a first round bye. Next, they matched up against Delaware Valley. The boys controlled the game from beginning to end and won 77-36. Every player saw floor time in this dominating win.
