Senior Breakfast

Alexandria Chilson

Once a month on Tuesday mornings, during second period, a group of approximately fifteen seniors attended a senior breakfast with Superintendent Dr. Tim Bowers. During this time, seniors met Dr. Bowers to discuss their experience as a Millionaire. Dr. Bowers kicked off the event sharing a little bit about his career with students. Then students each introduced themselves and shared their plans for after graduation. Dr. Bowers asked students to share some of the benefits of attending WAHS.  Responses included the CTE programs, the music department, the variety of course offerings, and competitive athletic programs.

Students also discussed ways the district could improve a student’s high school experience. One group suggested offering more support for college selection and application process.

Seniors were also given the chance to reflect upon their K-12 schooling experience and were encouraged to share their favorite memory with the group.
