The Red Cross club held their third annual blood drive this week. Students and staff signed up to give blood and the club scheduled volunteers for time slots throughout the day. Teachers who volunteered to donate could sign up for “rapid passes” so they had time to donate during their planning periods.

This was the third blood drive the club held this year.  Their goal was to collect 43 units of blood. They met and exceeded their goal.  They had 27 volunteers in the auxiliary gym throughout the day, and they collected 54 units of blood.  This collection gave the club a total of 140 units of blood collected and donated to the Red Cross this year.

Sophomore Adrianna Signor donated for the first time.  “It wasn’t too bad,” she reported. “And I got a really cool shark tee shirt for donating!”
