Members of the boys’ tennis team traveled to Altoona on Tuesday for doubles districts. Williamsport took two teams of Evan Beiter and Ben Manetta, as well Owen Kaar and Cherry Singh. These two pairs competed against teams from Hollidaysburg, Shikellamy, Central Mountain, Mifflin County, Altoona, State College, and Selinsgrove.

Owen and Cherry faced Central Mountain’s number-one team in the first round. They ended up losing in the first round 6-1, 6-0. Owen stated, “Although we did end up losing, they were a really good team to go up against. We tried our best and still had a good time playing. I tried to end my season with a good time.”

Meanwhile, Ben and Evan played against Mifflin County’s number two doubles team and end up winning 6-1, 6-0. When advancing to the second round, they played Altoona’s number one doubles team. The boys ended up losing 6-1,6-0. Ben stated, “We were worried going into this match because we knew they were a good team, but we tried to battle and stay with them. It just wasn’t working in our favor, but we had a great time the whole day, it was really fun.”

The boys did their best and put up a great fight against the teams they faced. Although they didn’t win districts, the team ended their regular season with a winning record.
