NHS students volunteer at Project Linus event
April 30, 2023
A group of NHS students volunteered at First Evangelical Church crocheting, knitting, and tying blankets. Students joined volunteers from other schools and organizations around the county for this project. Students started early in the morning and worked well into the afternoon on the blankets. These blankets will then be donated to ill children in the community. JoAnn Fabric accepts donated blankets from local organizations, then arranges distribution to the hospitals and other children in need.
Tyler Schneider reflected on the experience. “The ability to be a part of such an impactful organization was one I will never take for granted. The atmosphere in the room was amazing. Everyone gathered together for such an important cause. It was so fun to be around a great group of fun-loving people.”
Lauren Trump also volunteered at the event. “It was a really fun time. The adults there were nothing but encouraging, and being around my friends was a huge benefit.”
