On Oct. 12, the Williamsport Millionaires Middle School football team played the Shamokin Indians. The fight between the Williamsport Millionaires and the Shamokin Indians was a very tough battle. The Millionaires ended up coming down with a win of 42-36 that night.
An honorable mention is to one of the team’s wide receivers, Amauri Anderson, who scored two touchdowns throughout the game. The starting running back for the Millionaires, Jayson Johnson, ran for one touchdown, while catching two. Another honorable mention goes to wide receiver Jacob Hernandez, who scored one touchdown and caught the game winning defensive stop by getting a interception. When interviewing Johnson on his opinion of the game, he said, “It was a tough match up, but we managed to secure the win and worked together, and I manage to get three touchdowns.”
The Williamsport Middle School Millionaires had a good overall season. Their record was 4-4, beating Central Mountain, Selinsgrove, Jersey Shore, and Shamokin, but falling to State College, Shikellamy, Altoona, and Hollidaysburg. They had a tough season but they managed to keep it together and have a good run, and we hope that they bring a good improvement next year to the high school team.
